GENPETS- human/animal hybrid PETS??!??! FOR REAL??!?!

My friend just gave me a link to this site: http://www.genpets.com/index.php

Supposedly, these guys (genpets makers) claim to have created a living pet that comes pre-packaged and in a hibernating stage, from which one can open up and play w/ and discard w/ at their pleasure. Seemingly, it's a toy, but not really: the "toy" in fact is actually living, breathing...

What are your guys' opinions on this? Is this real? etc. etc.

I have to admit, I thought it was a very good hoax because obvsiouly there wasn't a single out of the package shot in the entire site,
Then I saw this

Yes, I obviously realize now that I "do know," after I saw the creator's portfolio (I made a post about that later on, perhaps you should get a better context of why I said what I said; then, you'll sound 12+ )
