The Janjaween are both black and arab; the term is generic for the mercenaries that roam Darfur. There are different Janjaween groups, numbering almost two dozen different groups. The arab on black genocide is what you hear about most. But JEM and SLA, together normally referred to as SLM, have slaughtered government workers and soldiers to the same extent.

The point is it needs to stop.

Lets kick the UN out of New York, it just increases traffic and the parking tickets are a huge mess.

Whats the point of the UN anyway? Just a big waste of money. All talk, no action.

Since we pay for 26% of their budget means we should be pushing the UN, the international community, and providing troops and aid to save the people of Sudan who are being killed. Just because you don't like Koffi Anan doesn't give you the excuse to not help dying Sudanese

Tell it to Kofi. The man doesn't give a DAMN about people billing murdered by their own governments. Most of the UN doesn't, and it's no surprise given that most of them are Socialist or Communist in government. Why the hell would an organization membered mostly by tyrants want to set a precedent of stopping tyrants?

This is another example of the UN being a failed organization. One of the scuttlebutt rumors is Kofi Annan is worried the Arab pact will vote to oust him as the leader of the UN if he puts his foot down on an Arab govt committing genocide on non-arabs.

I doubt that. The problem is a lack of vested interests in Sudan.

No, the problem is a lack of sincerity in the proclamation that we uphold the rights of individuals as precious.

Three.

Also, don't tell me UN prevents wars. Sure didn't prevent the first Desert Storm, Iran-Iraq war, couple of Israel-Arab wars, US-Vietnam, 3 India vs Pakistan wars. Has the UN prevented Russia from killing Chechnyan men? NO. Thats why you see so many female chechnyan terrorists, they are seeking revenge for their husbands who were killed for no apparent reason.

There are many more conflicts which resulted in a lot of deaths while the UN was, once again, debating.

Tyrants around the world could care less what the UN says. Its just words, no action.
