11=24-2004 Genetic Factors Influence Female Infidelity

Genetic factors influence female infidelity and the number of sexual partners women have, British scientists said on Wednesday.

"We found that around 40 percent of the influence on the number of sexual partners and infidelity were due to genetic factors," Professor Tim Spector, director of the Twin Research Unit at St Thomas' Hospital in London.

The average age of the women was 50. A quarter were divorced. Women who had been faithful had about four sexual partners, compared to eight in the infidelity group.

"More than 90 percent of the women admitted to having had thoughts of infidelity at some time"

The scientists suspect that many genes could be associated with sexual behavior. They believe genes on chromosomes 3, 7 and 20 could be involved.

Figures, my ex-wife can blame her genes for wanting the divorce.

That, or the fact that you were constantly ranting about neocon elitist masonic conspiracies. 😉

Mine likes em 😛
It's computer stuff she gets mad about lol

a wh0re gene? big boon for genetic testing companies. now you can check for infidelity and STD's in your potential future ex-mate before deciding on the pre-nup.

i'm gonna take a wild guess that 100% of men have this gene set

If you've had a course in molecular genetics, eukaryotic gene expression and evolution, you'd be surprised how many behaviors have a genetic component. The sciene of genetics and evolution are intertwined. Nothing happens evolutionarily with a genetic change simultaneously. Of course, there are hundreds of environmental and personal factors as well. But I'd wager to say that EVERY human behavior has at least some genetic component that is influencing the behavior.

Yep. I've read so many of these research studies that it never surprises me anymore when someone says that "X has a genetic component".

It's too bad more people don't have the success gene.

Pretty soon their will be no personal responsibilty left.

The confusion of explanation with exculpation is a common logical fallacy, but a fallacy nonetheless.

So, why the hell would anyone make such a study about women only?

50$ says he is divorced or at least recently left by a woman.

A study on men would be just obvious.

Honestly, i think infidelity among men would amount to the same numbers.

The thing is, women cheating= whore but man cheating = manly man.

And honestly it sickens me.

Nobody wants to call a whore like me a whore and spank my butt.

Damn women always getting things their way.

"More than 90 percent of the women admitted to having had thoughts of infidelity at some time"

(As others have pointed out): As opposed to 98 to 99 percent among men?
(I don't say 100% because that would not be statistically valid)

The scientists suspect that many genes could be associated with sexual behavior. They believe genes on chromosomes 3, 7 and 20 could be involved.

But they forgot all about chromosome 69?

If you're looking at sex-related genetic factors, it makes sense to only study one sex. Yes, both men and women exhibit infidelity, but their reasons for doing so are likely very different because of their different reproductive strategies due to the huge disparity in their required investments for reproducing (minutes versus years, if we just look at the time required.)

This opens up some novel avenues of thought. Perhaps the ideal genetic strategy is to have a father and mother raising kids with different fathers. Maybe we need to abandon the notion of family and live in small tribes of about thirty and trade our best daughters for others best sons.

Or we could do like in the middle east and stone to death adulterers to get rid of this annoying gene.

The best solution seems to me to harvest and the eggs of some experimentally selected limited % of the brightest and most beautiful and fertilize them with similarly chosen sperm and implant those all around to the rest of child bearing women who want kids. In the mean time, while awaiting a race of uniformly brilliant and beautiful people we can create perfect androids for sexual pleasure.

Or we could try to create a race of people who accept whatever their human truth may be and bow to life in perfect surrender and infinite wonder.

Oh my Beloved, wherever I look it appears to be Thou.

Edit: Or goodness, we could trade our best sons for others best daughters or does that feel odd and why?
