I'm looking for a black internal multi card reader for my new shuttle barebone and after looking through the product selection at newegg, I have noticed that almost all of them are made by companies I have never heard of. Are these card readers as reliable as brand name internal card readers? What brand/model of internal card reader would you guys recommend? Thanks.

There's no way that only 75% are identical (internal parts, not the case they use). I'd say about 95% use identical parts, and the other 5% are nearly identical.

I would agree.

Ge the cheapest thing you can get - they're all basically identical. I got a $4 external reader and it works fine.

The better ones may have better sockets/contacts. The reader on one of my 3007's no longer recognizes SD cards. Dell's response is to reinstall the os.

A little $8 reader works fine. :)
