In case anyone reads this thread later, do NOT order from 11cb.com. I received my order and it was high density ram (I didn't think there was such a thing as HD PC100, but owell). I called to exchange it for low density and they inform me that they don't sell it and that I would have to return it. Ok. So I ship it off, they receive it and I get an email saying that since it was not defective, I'd be charged a 20% restocking fee. Their policy states, "A few products offered by 11cb.com, if returned for any reason other than an incorrect shipment, will be subject to a restocking fee." I'm not sure what "a few" means, but I'd think it would apply to retail boxes since it wouldn't appear new anymore.
I call and tell the service person this and he points me to another return policy further down the page that says all returns are charged a restocking fee. He goes to get his manager (puts me on hold) and says that they'll only charge me a 10% restocking fee. This would only amount to $5 or so, but who is at the bigger loss here? I can't believe a company wants to split hairs over a $12 restocking fee for something that they will probably turn around and sell as new. I asked to speak with the manager and the rep said that he had just gone to lunch. "Just gone to lunch? You mean you spoke with him and he immediately bolted from the building?" "Yes." He said he would talk to his manager again about it and tell me "if they would issue a full refund." I told him I would be calling back again if they did not.
Whew, sorry for the rant, but this really bothered me. I didn't expect this from a company with decent reseller ratings.
