I am not an expert so bear with my ignorance.
1. A P4 processor with the 533 Mhz FSB has 4.264GB/s of bandwidth. So my goal to achieve maximum performance is to have the memory match that bandwidth right?
2. The 845PE chipset has a 64-bit DDR333 memory interface, offering a maximum of 2.664GB/s of bandwidth which is insufficient right?
3. The P4SDX SiS655 chipset allows for dual channel DDR333 (maybe even DDR400?). So, is the memory bandwidth of this dual channel DDR333 setup enough to maximally take advantage of the P4 memory bandwidth?
My goal is to put together a system that takes advantage of these technologies while remaining affordable: Dual channelling, Hyperthreading, 533 Mhz FSB, 8xAGP.
Side note: I am disappointed to hear that the Asus P4SDX has compatability problems with a video card as prestigious as the Radeon 9700 Pro. Or are the problems insignificant?
Thanks
