Will they work: Yes
How good will they work: YMMV, if it was wired it would be fine but cheap wireless should not go together

More than likely they will cause more headaches than they are worth. Why go cheap on something that you are constantly using? Go with name brand.

I like Logitech's Mouseman mice; the mx700 seems popular, but it may be a bit expensive. Maybe the mx500 or mx300 (I think those are the numbers) would suit you better; haven't used any of the latter though. I did use a Mouseman Optical, and Dual Optical Mouseman. Both are pretty good; still using the Dual Optical.

FWIW: My son loves the old optical he'd been using (some cheapo $5 mouse) but really wanted wireless. Found a new GE wireless (yeah! they make meeces! :Q) at the thriftstore for $10 and bought it for him. Works great, and has a good feel. He abuses his mouse pretty bad so I didn't want to spend any money on it, but this one has held up for 4 months so far...
