The US made units are very reasonably priced. I'll look into those if the unit I have now dies.

Unless it's diesel, don't bother.

Most gas generators run at high rpms and are not very efficient AT ALL.

Also, keep in mind you can power most Diesel generators with Propane/Gas.

Uh, you can get conversion carbs for gas generators to run them on LP or NG, but I'm pretty sure you can't convert a diesel to that. My grandpa had a converted gasoline generator that ran on LP.
