Too much random compilation.

It is indeed an awesome show. Contrary to what people said at the time, it is neither pro- nor anti-war. It's simply the most accurate slice of modern military life any movie or TV series has ever offered. It is exciting, hilarious, and sad. It just...is.

Not even vaguely the same thing.

I wouldnt say they arent vaguely the same thing. Both cover a unit in war. One is just a documentary vs the other is a mini-series based on a real life experience book.

Both are great. But i find Generation Kill one i can watch again and again whereas Restrepo is more of a one or two time sort of deal for me.

Glory Hounds was another one i really liked. Its about military working dogs.

I'm trying to remember if I saw some episodes of it a few years or so ago but I don't really remember any of them. From watching that clip the OP posted, one of the guys does look familiar so I guess I did see some episodes. Guess that'll be next up after I finish Sons of Anarchy.
