Anyone seen the previews for this yet? I just saw one and it looks interesting.

It is based off this book apparently. The book is by a reporter who was embedded with a marine battalion during the invasion of Iraq. Its a seven part miniseries

The first episode airs tomorrow (July 13) on HBO, and it starts at 8 o'clock central time.

David Simon ftw. I was a huge fan of the wire and I will definitely be watching this.

I just saw that this is being offered in HD. Time to make some room. Any idea about how long each of the 7 parts are supposed to be?

Might watch it after all 7 episodes come out, but have no "must watch" interest. Bring back Entourage already.

Probably an hour like all the mini series by HBO.

The first episode is 75 minutes long. The Band of Brother's episodes and the Rome episodes all seemed to vary.

the acting is pretty bad (watching it right now)... on the other hand, the wire has excellent acting....

In the commercials, I noticed at least one actor from the Wire: Ziggy. Does he get a duck drunk in this one?

I couldn't get through it. I think i was hoping for something Band of Brothers worthy, and the acting was just awful. By the time they loved the Rolling stone guy because he'd written for Hustler in the past I had to turn it off.

I spent the first 30 minutes trying to figure out where I knew that guy from. I could picture him with longer hair and being kind of a scuzz in SOMEthing, then it hit me. That's Ziggy!

I enjoyed the first episode quite a bit. Looking forward to seeing the rest of it.

First two episodes have been decent. I have a question. Why are the marines buying adult diapers at the PX? They may have said but I missed it.

Guess: In a chemical attack you can't drop your MOPP gear and drop the kids off at the pool.
