yeah, director is 2 up here.

analyst -> associate (after 1 year) -> AVP (after 2-3 years) -> VP (3-4 years) -> Director -> Managing Director

Everywhere outside the financial industry is has been mangers -> directors -> some VP or other senior head. Director is really manager of the managers, where VP/AVP is more of a strategic or leadership role.

Assistant or associate vice president. Normally just below the VP/executive/officer level.

Probably depends on the organization. I'd guess that most of the time it would make sense that if the president is at the head of the chain, the VPs would be next down the line, followed by directors, managers.
