Ok first issue, Last night I installed RA2 onto my slick win2k machine, so I could play vs. some live souls. ANd it logged me into westwood online, no sweat, Started buggin some people to try a game, got asked to try out for a clan. I go in the game, accept, and everyone else accepts, the next screen shows, but none of the other players seem to be connecting to me any more, then wam I lost all connections, and get dumped out to the chat.
Tried a quick game, no go, tried hosting my own, same thing. I am behind a freesco firewall/router, so I figure I need to find out how to make freesco let me thru, any one ever done this? could you please please help with any suggestions.

Unfortunately Broussard and all the other 3DRealms employees aren't talking. They just had a forums blackout where none of the employees are allowed to post in their forums! So, WHEN ITS DONE will have to suffice. I'm willing to bet late Q2 or Early Q3 for DNF (what a name...)

My question is - Where is Max Payne!! God Games has been touting it for so long, I think they introduced it WAY to early in its development cycle and it screwed the developer up. Hopefully it will be out soon.

Ark: You're probably better off going to one of the hardware forums (General or Networking) because I suspect that you have a configuration problem with your router since some games require particular access to ports. I'm not all that familiar with it, but I have read information to that effect. Some routers cause major problems with online gaming because they are incapable of releasing specific ports or assigning them to protocols, etc.

Duke Nukem Forever is never coming out -- it should be called &quot;Developing Nothing Forever&quot;. When it does, it will probably be horribly outdated.

does lowering the max fps in q2 help my ping?

ne0 - if you're 56k, then yes. Lower cl_maxfps to 40 and you should be set. If you're broadband it really doesn't make much of a difference
