Many REAL i.e. state colleges near me offer online BS General Studies degrees.

Would this be ok for an IT monkey like me who depends more on certs?

The reason why I like the program is I have about ~60 credit hours from LSU from all kind of different areas, and I can inroporate all of them to fill niches in the BS GS program.

Unlike alot of other majors where the other stuff won't count.

I've never heard of General Studies before...are the classes similar to those taken in a Liberal Arts degree?

do NOT plan on it.

It seems its for those who change majors 5 times and give up and just want to escape with a degree.

I'd do it. Most graduate schools don't care what you undergrad major was, so if you wanted to go to graduate school for and MBA or law or something you would have a bachelors in the bag already.

liberal arts/humanities degrees are better than general studies because at least the student becomes proficient in one area, where in general studies you may just have to pass a bunch of fresh/soph level classes in random fields.

uhh noo, it's just like any other degree where so many hours have to be from 3/4 level classes. And you do pick a concentration.
