I have a few random questions that i would like to ask. First, Ive noticed that my PC seems to stall during windows boot up and its never really done that before. The boot screen will go threw about 15 or so passes then it will take about 7 secs to load up the login menu. Then after logging in, it will halt for about 8 secs then everything loads up. And every once in a while things will take longer that it should to open. It gets really annoying after a while. What could be the cause to this?

Second, I have an X2 cpu and i was wondering if there is anyway to designate programs to either one of the cores. Like if i want to run only a game on one core and have everything else on the other, is that possible?

Thanks.

Do you have a lot of programs that automatically load at startup?

A fresh install of windows would probably clear up your issues if you wanted to go that far.

Some programs will let you set a single core to their operation, but I'm not really sure on games that allow that. I'm still in the dark ages of single core 😉

Some antivirus programs actually load a LOT of stuff at boot-up. I've noticed Norton's products do this, not familiar with others. Then, if you installed with the default configurations, they will start up other applications that go out to the Internet to check for program and virus definition updates, whcih they will donload and install in the background, and you don't even see that. It just takes a bunch of time.
