General question on when to buy pc parts

If I were to order all the parts for my pc right now, would I regret it in a week or a few weeks? When would be the best time to buy. I'm kinda confused what with the recent RAM fluctuations and the prices of MoBos aren't getting any cheaper, what is your opinion?
BTW, the rig I'm looking to build is this, if you have any comments please don't hesitate to tell me:
X2 3800+
DFI infinity am2 MoBo
Enhance 5140gh
CM centurion 534
Patriot ddr2-667 2gb kit
Seagate 7200.10 250gb
NEC dvd burner
Logitech g5 laser
ATi x1950 pro
Samsung 940bf

Total and max budget: $1150
Gaming, probably ocing
Thanks all!😀

Probably not, the DFI board will need to be hacked to allow for dual gfx, I may do that eventually, but as I stated, I'm planning on an x1950 pro, coming out in late sep? Can you hack the board to allow for xfire or just sli? Why that enhance and not the 5140gh? That corsair is way out of my budget. The way I see it, there are plenty of high quality psus for under $80.

EDIT: what about "when to buy"?

Well, I wouldn't count on a 400W PSU to power a system with a x1950 Pro in it, don't matter how good it is (and indeed that enhance is very good). I figure a 460W ENP would give you more headroom 🙂

How? Both have 18 and 16 amps on 2 12v rails, the 5140gh is 80+ certified and RHoS compliant. Seems like the better choice.

Why do I need that much power? Aren't they supposed to be shipping rev 3 by now? That's supposed to upgrade to 36amps max on the 12v rails.

This one is the one with 18 amps on each 12v rail I'm pretty sure.

Here's a link to a review, rebadged under another name Link

It's $11 more and has 2x PCI-e cables and more sleeved cables. Once again, it's only $11 why not spend it now and get something better, it's a small price to pay for something you may make better use of later on.

Do yo know what the RHoS compliance is? Just out of curiosity because I don't know why people seem to think this is a 'feature' it just means that it is a more environmentally friendly psu (read: lead free solder) so for us here in the states it really doesn't do anything for you. I don't know if you knew that or not but thought I owuld point it out...

Trust me I know all about the 5150gh, I recommend it to a lot of people, but thanks for the link . L00ker, yeah, I was just comparing the 5140gh to the 5246g that dptelos recommended earlier. Anyone know where to get cheap RAM?

EDIT: I believe the patriot 2gb kit is the best price/performance ATM

You will always buy and regret. So there is never really a point to wait unless there a huge markdowns scheduled to happen. Such as when AMD dropped their prices during Intel's Core 2 release to stay competitive for lower end CPUs and price conscious buyers.

You're right. There is cheaper RAM, and there is better RAM, but the PC 6400 Patriot is the best out right now price/performance.

Also, you do realize how power it requires to overclock two processors, while powering an X1950, along with everything else (two or more drives, the motherboard, the RAM, the fans, the NIC, etc, etc)?

Yes I'm quite aware, however, I will not have 2 cpus, will have only one hdd, optical, and 2 fans. No Netrwork card for the moment, and the MoBo only uses ~35w. Even if the x1950 pro uses 200w, which it better not, I will be set with the 5140gh, unless you can prove to me that I need a better, stronger PSU, but thanks for the input.
