I'm tired of surround. It really doesnt make me feel like I'm actually there, which is the whole damn point.
High quality stereo is far superior.

Also, Top Gun sounds great. Even though my Sony's had proper mids, woofers, and tweeters, they did not have great range. And the quality is much better. I'm picking up all kinds of background sounds like shoes clicking and buttons beeping & such. Its almost an aural overload. Will take some getting used to.

This.

I don't have a dedicated theatre room, so my 3.2 setup is PERFECT for me. Just got it setup.

2x DefTech Mythos STS Towers
1x Mythos 9 Center
2x Emotiva XPA-1L (R/L) Monoblock 250w 8ohm each
Marantz 1403 Receiver (only powering center)

Just did my Audyssey setup today and am LOVING it. Just need to grab the turntable for the wife (she wants a nice one for xmas).

Sound is amazing, and got this all for <$3k which was pretty darn good IMHO. When we upsize our living quarters, will be getting a new TV, 11.2 pre and 4 more Mythos 9s for surround. Until then, I am loving this a lot more than my previous 5.1. Quality does really trump quantity of speakers. You can get some great speakers and amps for really great prices these days without breaking the bank. $3k at Bose would have bought a real POS in comparison. :awe:

I have:

Polk TSi 300 monitors with matching center and bookshelve speakers

Polk psw110 sub

Klipsch 450w sub

Yamaha RX473

60"Samsung Plasma

Samsung Blu-ray

Monster HD1800 power conditioner

I've had for a number of years..

polk monitor 70s for the front, 60's for the rear, CS2. Despite forum posters telling me the RSi are better, I've had no problem with any of mine and are very pleased with their performance over the years.. crisp, full sound across the spectrum and they go pretty low as well, though I generally crossover between 80 and 100 hz.

Subwoofer is now a Rythmik LV12R... very nice and musical.

Television.. 60 inch samsung... ln60c630... also several years old. I'll replace it when it dies.

PC is connected to all this.
