First off, the Sovereign Citizen theory is bullshit. It has never been upheld in any court. It was invented by white supremacists as a way circumnavigate the law and the guys who initially taught it know that its bullshit. If you ever get offered a seminar on Sovereign Citizens just be aware its a complete scam. And it does make a lot of money for con artists every year. Go on Youtube and look at all the failures if you doubt this.

2nd: theres a number of laws and court rulings that help police abuse your rights and they get away with it frequently. One is the supreme court ruling of 1969 Frazier Vs. Cupp which permits officers to lie to you and others during an investigation, which is one of the reasons you always ask for a lawyer before saying anything. There are supposedly limits to what they can say or do, but those rules rarely get enforced thanks to a system that favors cops over citizens.
In addition to lying theres other techniques which they use regularly because they work, not because they are legal or ethical.

The Reid Technique is old and frequently proven to be bullshit, but it works so police at all levels keep using it.

3rd point for tonight and then I'll leave the discussion open: Many older cops dont like whats going on right now and are suggesting people dont enter the force.
One example of many: https://www.activeresponsetraining.net/peace-officers-vs-law-enforcement-officers

Just as a matter of reference, there is court case law that allow police to lie to you during an investigation.
The SCOTUS case for this is Frazier v Cupp]

The Court stated:
The fact that the police misrepresented the statements that Rawls had made is, while relevant, insufficient, in our view, to make this otherwise voluntary confession inadmissible

Remember the days when the police actually lived in the neighborhoods they actually patrolled?
They actually knew the residents of the community, by name.
Back when they were REQUIRED to live in the area or community, county, city they were employed by?
Those were the good old days.

In my experience that doesn't necessarily help. The small town cops I've known are just as shitty, just in a unique way. They'll openly hold grudges, be bumbling dumbfucks, look the other way while people they know break laws like driving while drunk, and plenty of other shitty behavior.
