I built this computer, but I am still a noob. I was playing UT2004 and whenever I went to play, the game minimized itself. Then when I went to hit CTRL ALT Delete, the task manager would not show up. Now this may be simple, like I said I am a noob. I was playing NFS-MW earlier and all was good. Any help is appreciated

Has it worked before and suddenly stopped working or did it never work?

Is this when you're installing it or first running it?

Sorry....

AMD 3500 w/ecs nforce4 Motherboard
1 gig Mushkin value ram
XFX 7800gt
Seagate 160gb HDD

Nothing is overclocked and like I said earlier, NFS-MW worked fine today. Also, the power supply is only 350 watt I believe, but has been working fine since the install of the 7800gt

Yea it has worked fine before. BTW this is the 64bit version I am using. The thing I don't get is that I can't bring up the task manager now. Should I boot to XP pro 32bit and try it that way?

Is that a generic 350 or a brand name 350?

Try 32-bit, 64-bit has some issues that 32 doesn't.

Even if 32-bit does work for you, getting a nicer PSU would probably be a good bet for peace of mind.

Yea I know I need a new PSU, but right now I am broke after Chrismas. Anyway, booted to 32 and I don't even have it installed. So it will be a few before I can install it. Task manager will now show up since the restart, but UT still acts funny. Maybe I will just reinstall it. Thanks for the help.

XP 64 is retarded. There's no performance benefit, and it's really incompatable with a lot of programs and drivers. It's basically just for bragging to n00bs.
