I have a full tower (gigabyte model) and I have the following components inside:

gigabyte DS3 mobo
x1900xt vid card
4gigs ram
320 sata drive
dvd rom

Now, I also have a thermalright CPU cooler with 120mm fan on top of the heatsink blowing onto the CPU for cooling.

I also have a thermalright HR-03 vga cooler with a 90mm fan on my ATI video card.

I get very good air cooling from both and temps are very nice.

The question is, my case seems full. I started to think that if I wanted to do crossfire or SLI, how in the heck would I fit that stuff inside the case?!?!

Are some cases more spacious inside?
What about motherboards and the need for more than one PCI-E slot to hold the cards?

just thought i'd ask.

thanks.

Take a look at some Lian Li or CoolerMaster full tower cases, they offer quite a bit of room. There's others as well, I'm just using these for an example.
As for mobos, you might lose a (or two) pci-e 1x or regular pci slot or something, but thats the price you pay... after paying a big price for the sli/xfire setup and one of the aforementioned cases to fit it all in.
That being said, I run neither sli/xfire or own either of those cases, so I probably just wasted 2 minutes of your time. Isn't the internet great?! :D

You could choose more conservative cooling options - no need for gigantic coolers to cool well. Then it wouldn't look so crowded in there

I would say once you have that much in there, adding another card should be no issue. My logic being that as long as you dont have cables/ fans in the area of your second slot, you already know you have room in all directions. Well, should do, will wait until we see pics. Which cooler BTW? I am using the Thermalright SI-120, probably the same as you, roughly.

Oh, and as for me, I just use a Thermaltake Armor, and my new case is a Silverstone TJ-07.... Big cases indeed.
