Initially when I installed this card the remote worked, for some reason now this thing stopped working. i tried repairing drivers and unplugging/plugging in the receiver. Nothing is turning this thing back on. Anyone have any advice?

Sounds like you've got some serious AIW issues man. I have used 3 different ATI AIW cards over the past 3 or 4 years, so I have AIW experience. If I were you, the first thing I would do is uninstall everything. Use Driver Cleaner and just wipe out MMC and ATI drivers. Follow their instructions included with the program to ensure you have removed everything correctly. Download the 5.2 Catalyst drivers with WDM and also the 9.03 MMC software (not the latest version of 5.3 and 9.06, which have been known to cause the recording issues you are seeing). Don't forget the latest remote wonder software. Now, install the CAT drivers first, and reboot. Once everything is good with the drivers (check and make sure all your ATI components show up correctly in Device Manager), then install the MMC software and reboot. Lastly, install and configure the remote wonder software. Now, once everything is up and running, go and install your Guideplus software. Now, open up MMC TV application and go into setup. Go to the Schedule tab and click create new. This will bring up the schedule wizard. Try and setup the program to record a show. It may tell you it needs to install a scheduler of some sort, at least it used to in older versions of MMC. After a reboot, it should be setup to the point where you can schedule recordings. Now, go into guideplus and try to setup a show to record, and see if it works.

Did you make sure the ATIRW process was running? In order for the reomote to work the application has to be running - it doesn't operate automatically.

If you go back to cat 5.2, and mmc 9.03, you also have to go back to 2.5 for the remote wonder. Also, make sure you install windows media encoder 9 and the DAO MDAC update (filename mmc-9-1-0-0-dao-mdac.exe) first, before you install the catalyst drivers and MMC software. As before, you should uninstall everything (ATI drivers, remote wonder, MMC), reboot into safe mode, clean everything with Driver Cleaner then go back into Windows, install DAO MDAC, ATI Drivers/control panel, reboot, install MMC, reboot, install remote wonder software, reboot. Also, make sure your USB reciever for the remote is getting power from the USB interface (red light should be on). Good luck.

ok so I've reformatted and everything, the remote works, I can record MOST of the time, but for some reason at the end of recording a show the TV has a tendency to FREEZE! Then I cant get it to close process or otherwise so I have to restart to get TV back....WTF mate
