I'm working on a paper, and I need to conduct a survey on how different cultures have different gender roles and have varied views on sexuality. Could you guys help me out?
Please answer the following question.

1) What nationality are you?
2) Are you a male/female?
3) What are some gender roles that are encouraged or discouraged in your culture? (ex. are girls encouraged to be moddest?)
4) How does your family/ friends define "in a relationship"? Are there certain behaviors that show that you're in a relationship? (ex. does holding hands mean you're in a relationship?)
5) How do family members regulate gender roles to their children? Who are children's role models?
6) What do parents think what is appropriate and what is not appropriate in their child's relationship with his or her SO (do they encourage keeping virginity? Is kissing allowed? what about premarital sex? Are they against incest?)
7) What are some sexual behaviors that are regulated by the society? (Is pre-marital sex accepted by the culture? what about adultery?)
8) How do teenagers and adults challenge these regulations in #7?
9) what are some punishment if they violate #7?
10) What defines marriage in your culture? What is marriage?
11) Who's in charge of money, children, work in marriage? Husband or wife?
12) How does your culture define marriage culturally? (is it by wedding ceremony? dowry?)
13) How does one's identity change as a result of marriage? (does your last name change? do you leave your parent's house and settle into a new home? what are some new roles in marriage?)
14) How do couples (people who are married) relate to other people in the community? What are their roles in community?
15) Who takes care of finances? children? do both couples work? or is it just one person?

I would like to know how your culture defines these things. Thank you so much!

6) What do parents think what is appropriate and what is not appropriate in their child's relationship with his or her SO (do they encourage keeping virginity? Is kissing allowed? what about premarital sex? Are they against incest?)

Are there cultures out there that are FOR incest, and is such an attitude relevant enough to warrant a question in the poll?

Pregnancy is a punishment now eh? Ha.

Of course it is. Talk to any Evangelical Christian in the US Bible Belt.

The consequence of having to raise an unwanted child is God's righteous punishment to women who engage in immoral sexual behavior.

I would like to know how your culture defines these things. Thank you so much!

1) What nationality are you? White
2) Are you a male/female? Male
3) What are some gender roles that are encouraged or discouraged in your culture? (ex. are girls encouraged to be moddest?) Typical American values/gender roles I guess...I don't put too much emphasis on pushing these values on my son, nor were they pushed on me when I was a child.
4) How does your family/ friends define "in a relationship"? Are there certain behaviors that show that you're in a relationship? (ex. does holding hands mean you're in a relationship?) I'd say that the time when you and your partner become exclusive with each other, as in not seeing anyone else, is when you are officially "in a relationship."
5) How do family members regulate gender roles to their children? Who are children's role models? We have a 7 year old son, he is definitely all boy, he loves video games and playing basketball, riding his bike, etc. He doesn't like girly things in general but we haven't discouraged this. I'd say that I'm probably his primary role model...scary huh?
6) What do parents think what is appropriate and what is not appropriate in their child's relationship with his or her SO (do they encourage keeping virginity? Is kissing allowed? what about premarital sex? Are they against incest?) I'd prefer that he wait to have sex until he is at least old enough to deal with the emotional issues and be responsible enough to take precautions. I had sex before marriage, I lived with my wife for 2 years before we married...I'm fine with that. Who the fuck is for incest?
7) What are some sexual behaviors that are regulated by the society? (Is pre-marital sex accepted by the culture? what about adultery?) Rape is regulated by society, as are other forms of deviant sexual behavior. That's about as far as I'm willing to accept societal norms in my personal values. I don't give a shit if someone is gay or masturbates furiously. Hell, I'm for gay marriage even though many Americans seem to be hung up on this issue.
8) How do teenagers and adults challenge these regulations in #7? I challenge regulations I think are stupid. I challenge them by talking about them and by voting on them when I can.
9) what are some punishment if they violate #7? I don't know...go look up the punishment for rape I guess. I've never committed it so I wouldn't know. I actually respect women so raping a woman is not something I'd ever do.
10) What defines marriage in your culture? What is marriage? Law/church. Marriage is a civil union, usually sanctioned by the church, between two adults.
11) Who's in charge of money, children, work in marriage? Husband or wife? My wife and I have split these rolls at various times during our 20 year relationship. Currently, she is handling the bills as she works out of the house. We both have always worked and probably always will. We both share the responsibility of raising our son...it is a collaborative effort.
12) How does your culture define marriage culturally? (is it by wedding ceremony? dowry?) Wedding, exchanging vows, wearing rings...
13) How does one's identity change as a result of marriage? (does your last name change? do you leave your parent's house and settle into a new home? what are some new roles in marriage?) Your identity doesn't really change, the only thing that changed between my wife and I when we married was that she took my last name. We lived together before marriage but that was never an issue with our community or parents and she is still the same woman she was before and I love and respect her greatly.
14) How do couples (people who are married) relate to other people in the community? What are their roles in community? Why would this be any different just because I'm married?
15) Who takes care of finances? children? do both couples work? or is it just one person? We both work, we both share the duty of raising our son, we collaborate on the finances and everything goes into a joint account. I handle the tax preparation.

Yes, and we all live in the USA. Did you not learn the difference between race and culture in grammar school?

I'm working on a paper, and I need to conduct a survey on how different cultures have different gender roles and have varied views on sexuality. Could you guys help me out?
Please answer the following question.

1) What nationality are you? Part Filipino, rest unknown (mystery meat)
2) Are you a male/female? Male
3) What are some gender roles that are encouraged or discouraged in your culture? (ex. are girls encouraged to be moddest?) Males are encouraged to be studious and become doctors, lawyers, and, to a lesser degree, engineers. Women are encouraged to be housemothers.
4) How does your family/ friends define "in a relationship"? Are there certain behaviors that show that you're in a relationship? (ex. does holding hands mean you're in a relationship?)
You are in a relationship once you say you are
5) How do family members regulate gender roles to their children? Who are children's role models? They regulate it with verbal approval/disapproval. For role models, the only ones I can think of are parents
6) What do parents think what is appropriate and what is not appropriate in their child's relationship with his or her SO (do they encourage keeping virginity? Is kissing allowed? what about premarital sex? Are they against incest?)We're lax on sexual restrictions, but are partial to marriages.
7) What are some sexual behaviors that are regulated by the society? (Is pre-marital sex accepted by the culture? what about adultery?)Polygamy plays a big part of our family history (dont ask). it isn't accepted, however, and it one of the biggest family scandals.
8) How do teenagers and adults challenge these regulations in #7? The only way to challenge regulations are to break them
9) what are some punishment if they violate #7? Yelling
10) What defines marriage in your culture? What is marriage? Marriage is...when you get married?
11) Who's in charge of money, children, work in marriage? Husband or wife?Husband works and is charge of most money. Wife takes care of the house
12) How does your culture define marriage culturally? (is it by wedding ceremony? dowry?)Christian marriage, I suppose
13) How does one's identity change as a result of marriage? (does your last name change? do you leave your parent's house and settle into a new home? what are some new roles in marriage?)everyone has already left the house, married or not. You are expected to not rely on parents as much, however. Last name normally changes to the male's last name, but it isn't required.
14) How do couples (people who are married) relate to other people in the community? What are their roles in community?Friendly chit chat with neighbors...ntohing more
15) Who takes care of finances? children? do both couples work? or is it just one person?
The ideal is that man works outside the house to make money, and the woman works are home, but the reality is that bost sexes have to work.
I would like to know how your culture defines these things. Thank you so much!

there you go

I certainly hope this isn't for a college paper. I can't see any legitimate research being possible via ATOT, sorry.

A key that opens many locks is an amazing key. A lock that is opened by many keys is a crappy lock.
