The Islamic community is missing a big opportunity here. Instead of rioting in the streets and chanting death they have a chance to really make a statement. Want to really hurt this nut job preacher wannabe ? The Islamic community should calm down, make a public speech about how they feel pity for such a person that would result to such acts in an attempt to make them out to be something they are not and how they will pray that people with such hate will in the future overcome it.

Instead they are giving him what he wants.

They aint missing shit. Islam call for DEATH for blasphemy, prothestising in Muslim lands, Apostasy etc. DEATH is much more effective than your little pshychology games. Islam is perfect religion when it comes to propogation and retention, I'll give them that. +1 Mo.

Not to worry the guy in Fla. may have decided not to burn one but several others have figured it was a great idea. I cant wait to watch this all explode all day Saturday.

Absolutely. When other religions are crumbling under secular forces, Islam uses those secular forces as a shield while it spreads outwards and attacks its enemies. Islam is a virulent meme pushed forward by the constant threat of violence. Scientology ain't got nuttin' on Islam.

You don't have to wait. Outraged Muslims have preemptively freaked out. It's caused at least one death.

I would expect no less from the religion of peace and forgiveness. I am surprised to see no outrage from South America. Islam is spreading at a pretty good clip now that Catholicism is no longer providing the outreach it had in the past.

Wouldn't it be great if this guy actually burned the Koran tomorrow, and there wasn't a single media outlet there to report it? No media, no story. Everyone is happy.

Alas, we do not live an ideal world where the press is smart enough to ignore publicity hoars like this guy in Florida. Instead of doing REAL news, they stoop to this cheap politically polarizing infotainment instead.

"Islam" doesn't do anything, people do. IMHO, the biggest problem with religion is that there is no barrier to entry into calling yourself a believer, and it provides a for some reason credible justification for any action.

Do you agree that Islam is a set of beliefs, customs and holy texts? Do you deny that these beliefs, customs, and holy texts have different effects on adherents than say Buddhism would?
