So we can list 'literacy' as another thing millennials killed (somewhat joking and being said as a millennial).

Parents handing them a tablet and shipping them off to school to do the rest appears be becoming more the norm.

Fortunately we have a very robust educational system that fairly compensates teachers, has high educator retention rates, and keeps class sizes low to allow for additional needed individualized attention

I found her voice (and uneven volume levels between clips) pretty irritating, but the content doesn't surprise me. I'm sure not every school or not every 7th grader is like this, but I also don't believe it's very limited anecdotal experiences of one or two teachers.

Was pretty much the same. Basically just substitute TV for smart phones/tablets/computers,
I wasn't around when the same was being claimed about boomers, but I don't see it as an equal situation. Boomers couldn't have an interactive TV in their pocket all day long (including in school).

Even if they spent every hour at home watching TV, the content of the limited channels was nothing like what kids are exposed to these days. The TV didn't make them unmotivated to learn anything when they went back to class, or give them ADHD on a widespread basis.

I wonder what were the predictions about baby boomers.

@VirtualLarry you really need to find information sources that are worth a shit.

I guess Pete's links show the same woman bitching about other stuff? I watched about halfway through the op video, and felt like I was being had. I don't believe it, and I doubt there's anyone that thinks people are stupid more than I do. Looks like idiotbook fodder.

Ha, I was fixing to add "/s" but yours is better.

So much this. My wife has done a fine job with our kid.
Both my kids love to read, but I also encourage tech use. They're still a little young for most social media, but that won't be the case much longer. I'm not afraid of it though, because I'm not afraid to actually talk to my kids to help them stay grounded.
