Specs to my October 2002 stick (ordered from buyaib.com):
- GeiL 256MB PC3500 @ CL=2.5-3-3
- Copper heat spreader
- Neon-acrylic case
I wanted to upgrade with another 256MB and looking at newegg, yet GeiL now only offers "Ultra" and "Ultra Platinum" models, of which I don't have. Same at GeiL's website.
Since I cannot get the same PC3500 CL 2.5 (which runs great at CL2 DDR400), I was considering getting the PC3200 @CL2 stick instead of this PC3500 @CL2 which has a tin-copper heat spreader.
Am I being too picky? Should I go with the PC3500 although it doesnt match the copper heat spreader of my other "PC3500"? I read somewhere that GeiL used to overclock their PC3200 CL2's to PC3500 CL2.5's...i assume, in order to be the first company with PC3500 available (as they advertised). With an $11 difference, which should I go with?
