I was in a similar situation as you and from what I've read over the past week is definitely get Mushkin BLACK if you have the cash. If not, Kingston vs. Corsair vs. GeIL vs. OCZ is really a crapshoot. I've read GREAT things and BAD things about all 4. Keep in mind some Canterwood/Springdale boards have problems with Winbond CH-5 chips that in the newer Kingston and Corsair memory...

yea, i noticed that... wtf? how am i supposed to make a decision if the reviews are all mixed? i have a feeling a lot of mb have problems, but people blame it on the ram or something.

i would just get two identical sticks of DDR memory. if you aren't going to OC, then you don't need to worry about stability and overvolting at above default settings. i would still get a quality name brand you can trust though. Mushkin Green, Crucial, Corsair, or Kingston are brands i'd go with.

Notice I didn't say it about Mushkin Black though. That's the ONLY RAM I haven't heard anything bad about, but maybe it's not too popular with the high costs. It seems to crush everything else in benchmarks, although it might not OC the highest. If I had the cash I'd go for Mushkin Black Level 2 that has guaranteed Winbond BH-5 over anything else...
