Hi,

I have bought this memory from someone and I am having a weird behavior with my A7V333 motherboard. When I install the memory, the BIOS detects it as being a CAS2.0 memory (set with "By SPD"), but when I run CPU-Z, it tells me it is in CAS2.5 mode. In the BIOS, I have to use "User Config" to set the memory to CAS2. And when I run Aquamark3, it freezes. Is my memory bad or my motherboard sucks? The memory I have bought is used and the sticker on the RAM tells me it is a 2-3-3-6 memory.

I have bought that memory in the perspective of buying a MSI K7N2 Delta-L motherboard.

What is the weirdest thing in all that is that before installing my new Geil, I've rebooted my computer with my old RAM and made a Benchmark with Aquamark3, result was 29,000 pts. I install my new Geil, reboot, run the benchmark, result, 24,000 pts. Reinstall the old RAM, result in Aquamark3 (I expected 29,000. WRONG.), 25,000 pts!

Computer:
A7V333 BIOS 1017
Athlon XP 2000+ Palomino
Radeon 9700 Pro
Windows XP SP1
Generic Quality CAS2 RAM
Trying to install the GeIL Golden Dragon PC3200 DDR400 (2-3-3-6)

with a via motherboard to top it off ;p haha.

i actually am running geil pc32000 ram (not the golden dragon, the other stuff) on my Shuttle AN35N Ultra and i've had no problems, but i haven't got around to tweaking anything yet :) i seem to recall that the golden dragon stuff was listed as cas2.5 on newegg's website, which is why i opted for their other stuff (the one with the copper heat spreader).

I thought the fastest the A7V333 could handle was 2700 (at least for me, I bought the fastest memory available for it when I bought it)?

should be that the fastest it'll run the ram is 333, but it'll accept 400mhz ram just fine.

I have been able to run the RAM and make it stable. But I get a lower score in Aquamark3. I used to get 25,600pts with my old 266DDR memory and with the Geil, I get 24,000.

I wonder if my memory could be defective or my motherboard simply suck?
