Hey guys, my current insurance company policy is up in October, so i considered to switch to Geico since there's a commercial every minute of channel surfing. Considering i'm living in NJ, i pay $3100 a year for a financed 2000 Accord Ex. I had a couple of tickets but none with any points. So I put in my information through Geico, and received a quote of $1244 every 6 months. Everything sounded great. I took it to the next step and put in my payment information. About 20 minutes later i get an email saying this is on my driver's license record, 3 tickets from 2001 (not speeding, no points, bullsh*t tickets). YOUR NEW QUOTE IS $1575. Well thanks Geico, i didn't save money on my car insurance.

They were considerably more expensive when I was looking, too - and I had no tickets at the time..

You're complaining because your driving record increased your insurance costs?

The whining here has officially hit a new low.

I've been with State Farm since 1961 and I've always had my houses insured with them

The result is that my discounts are more than my net insurance bill.

It pays to stick with some companies.

I'm not complaining, im just sharing that tickets from 4 years ago could screw your new car insurance

Agreed; my parents have been with Allstate since they were married (1976) and even when I turned 16 (and bought a brand-new Sentra), their agent somehow got my rate to a reasonable level.

I just got in a wreck, and I'm loving AllState right now. They've taken care of things in ways I couldn't have imagined. Of course, I don't know how much my insurance is going to go up yet, but whatever it is, it'll be deserving. But I was very impressed. Took a bit longer than I liked, but I'm impatient with everything... I'm not quite done with the whole ordeal though, and my lip has yet to heal, but things are going smoothly so far.
Tas.
