I have a geforcefx 5900 and windowsxp... i had no problems... My windows was running a bit screwy, so I decided reinstall using the upgrade mode in the in windows install. Then it said it can't find my cdrom.. so for now I changed my mind and decided to back to my windows that I had installed.. Well anyways, after I did that, it would bsod after it finishes loading windows. I held F8 before windows started up and tried the Last Good Known Configuration mode setting. Windows booted up. Though it won't load my gffx 5900 drivers, det 52.61. I tried deleting them and reinstalling, same thing. I delelted them and installed 44.03, same thing. It keeps saying This device cannot start with the yellow exclaimation point in device manager. Help?

When you say you "tried deleting them and reinstalling", are you referring to just the drivers, or the device itself? Have you attempted to first uninstall the drivers, then remove the device itself from the Device Manager (or whatever they call it in XP.. sorry, I have never used XP), and then on a reboot let Windows recognize the new hardware, at which time you install the drivers manually?

Try Driver Cleaner from here ,follow the instructions,I would also run driver cab cleaner and SP1 cleaner in safe mode(both in tools menus of Driver Cleaner) before running the actual main Driver Cleaner . Then I would install latest Nvidia 52.16 drivers after reboot, don`t forget to reboot after you have finished running Driver Cleaner.

Download them from here ,remember to disable your anti-virus just before install.
