geforce4ti 4600 question

is the geforce4ti4600 a good card. i was wondering what the ballpark range for it was and if it will run newer games such as halo

I would go with a Radeon 9600 Pro or a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra, and I'm sure you're going to get that alot here. The 9600 Pro can be had for ~$150, the 5700 Ultra ~$200.

well i was just wondering, because i think i'm getting a hell of a deal with my buddy, he's gonna give me his geforce4ti 4600 for $50

$50 for that card is a steal. It will still run most games fairly well without aa or af. And overclocking is simply running the card beyond it's rated specs. For example, a ti4600 by default runs at 300 core and 650 memory. If you wanted to overclock it, you could make it run at speeds faster than that, such as 310 core and 660 memory.

Yes like my 4200 runs at default 250 core and 513 memory clocks but I can overclock it to 300/600 which is already considerabely faster.

My Ti4600 runs Halso at 1024x786 full detail (no af or aa) in single player fine. Multiplayer has to be dropped to 80x600 to keep the frame rate steady around 40.

Halo is such a bad game though to compare performance between cards on a PC . Ti4600 is still a good card. 50 dollars is a steal.
