Due to a sweet price/performance ratio I plan on picking up a GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB DDR AGP8X. However, there are many manufacturers who produce this card and obviously some are better than others. Any recommendations? Who should I avoid?

Gainward's Golden Sample is a silly name, but one with a very good (and deserved) reputation...

I'd recommend MSI. My MSI GeForce4-Ti4400 overclocks from 275/275 to 330/315 and has worked flawlessly for me.:)

Abit has the OTES system, which is nice. It also runs @ 4400 speeds by default. HardOCP did a review of the card. I don't remember if they said it was loud, however. My brother owns the card and he likes it.

Leadtek is a good brand and although I've never had any issues with Gainward, they do seem to be suffering from quality issues lately.

Leadtek would be my choice,it has excellent image quality (one of the best GF4 wise),Gainward have had problems but they`ve gone out of their way to make sure customers get a good replacement if it becomes faulty.

The Albatron Turbo GF4 TI4200 model is a very good overclocking card,so another good choice as well.

My Radeon 9500 Pro is markedly faster then my GeForce4 Ti 4200 128MB card, neither are AGP 8x but is there really that much of a performance difference?
