GeForce4 ti 4400 (PCI Mode) ????

Hi,

I?m kind of new to all this but I thought I?d be clever and build myself a new machine, I chose a GeForce4 ti 4400 Graphics card. All worked well for about a month then the graphics card began to malfunction, rather than fiddle with it I returned it to the retailer. I have just received my replacement and it now conflicts with my sound card (Creative Sound blaster Audigy Platinum) after many attempts to fix it I noticed that both the graphics card and sound card use IRQ 11? Windows will not allow me to change ether IRQ.

I have also noticed that when I view the MSI information the graphics card is running in PCI mode, I did have it running in AGP X4 mode before and I can not change any of the setting for the card???? Could PCI mode be causing the conflict? If so can I change the card to run in AGP X4 again and how?

I am really confused any tec gurus out there feel like helping me out?

You need to install motherboard drivers for your board.

Sounds ot me like you have a VIA based chipset? go to www. viatech.com for the drivers


If its a SIS board, they have an AGP driver too...it will clear up the pci mode problem.

That cleared up the PCI mode problem I am now back on AGP X4, however I still cannot get the sound card to function and I think it's all down to the IRQ11 problem any ideas how to fix this?

have you tried moving it to another pci slot? Sometimes that works Also, go into your bios and see if the option for Plug and Play OS is set to "yes"... that might clear it up
