I saw this deal and thought maybe someone would be interested. Here is the link. That seems to be a pretty good deal to me.
 
Found a good review of the card. Link. Seems to be fairly overclockable. Also buy.com has some $10 off of $100 coupons.
 
It's interesting that newegg is selling the TV-OUT model at a higher price than the VIVO model. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
 
Technically, this "4 hour sale" is for 8 hours. They have two four-hour windows during the day. The first one is 9a-1p pacific and 4p-8p pacific. So if you miss out during the morning session, you can still get in this evening.
 
Don't know where buy.com is going with this four-hour-sale thing. Does it increase publicity or sales or anything at all to have these 4-hour sales instead of just a sale, period? For me, I never bother to look in there because I have to work during those hours. It's only if someone mention a specific deal like this one that I'll check it out.

But they have different stuff at midday than they do in the evening.

The performance of the XFX GeForce 4 Ti 4200 8X AGP was best when compared to the MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 8X AGP. The card was outperformed by the more expensive Radeon 9500 Pro that is going for around $200 USD, but when price is an important factor, like it is in the budget market segment that we're looking at today, the 50 dollar difference between the two cards may be more than enough reason to chose the XFX GeForce 4 Ti 4200 8X AGP card over the Radeon 9500 Pro. Overclocking wise, we were able to get a very good, and not to mention stable overclock out of the card and achieved a great performance increase when the card was at 290/600.

So it probably performs on par with the regular radeon 9500, not overclock or softmod - but the saphire card mentioned in the other thread will overclock to 9500 pro speeds, and with the softmod, it may perform radeon 9700 speeds. I should add that my Saphire 9500 did not take the softmod but did seem to overclock nicely.

For the GeForce 4, this is a hot price, imho.

According to the review linked above by another person, the 9500 Pro's outperfom the XFX GeForce 4 Ti 4200 but not by much. For $99 I think this is a hot deal - not that I will take advantage of this deal, I have a 9700 pro and just picked up a 9500 at $150 for a second pc a couple of weeks ago.

it allows buy.com to spam our mailboxes every other day. ;p

i have an xfx geforce4 mx420 64mb running on my spare. it's decent. havent had any problems yet.

Got an email from buy.com recently saying something like, "Our records indicate that you created an account with us back in 1999. May we have the permission to start spamming you? We'll send you a small coupon in return."

I told them, "no thanks". I can get my $10 off $100 coupon from techbargains thank you very much.

Got this same email in two of my email accounts.
 
i live in Socal, and everytime I order ground from Buy.com I get it the next day, I love buy.com


you must live close to one of their shipping warehouses....? i live in socal too and my stuff hasn't ever come that quickly.
 
Be careful with this card (XFX GF4 Ti4200 8x 128MB). I plugged it into my Asus P4B533V mobo (which supports 1.5V AGP cards only) and it fried my mobo. According to XFX's official website, all their video cards should support both 1.5V and 3.3V.

I've emailed XFX support to request for both an RMA of the video card and reimbursement for the cost of the mobo.
