After spending months waiting for Geforce4 Ti4200 to come out and come down in price. I am now trying to decide which way to go. ( I bought and returned the "Amazon.com deal" an unopened Visiontek 4600 after the news of liquidation). I am replacing an Asus V7100 (geforce2 mx) and want something for all around use. Some gaming, videos, and maybe to overclocked, really to improve and complete the system. I want VIVO, 128mb and some kind of decent warranty because I plan to use for awhile. Gainward's 650XP is $190. and MSI t14400-VTD is $210. I am leaning toward the MSI for the extra $20. Right or Wrong or any other suggestions? The rest of my system is AMD XP 1900, Soyo KT333 Ultra Dragon, 512mb PC3000 DDR.
Thanks for any input or suggestions.

Looking at the same cards except I don't need VIVO. I am leaning towards the msi because of all the softwear that comes with it.

OK well if your looking for the Fastest Geforce4 Ti4200 Around its the Tripple X Card
and its pretty much one of the cheapest also Apart from the Creative Geforce4Ti4200 thats cheaper.

The thing that makes the Tripple X faster then any other Geforce4 Ti4200 card out there is the 3.3ns (550Mhz) memory on the 64mb version
The Stock Ram speed for the Ti4200 cards are

GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB = (DDR500) or 4.0ns
GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB = (DDR444) or 4.5ns

X micro cheat and use faster Ram that makes this cards core and ram 250/550 out of the box overclock the core by 25Mhz and you have yourself a Geforce4Ti4400 without even overclocking the ram !
Overclocked the ram and core and you have a card that?s faster then a sock Geforce4 Ti4600 all because of 3.3ns ram

I?m not to sure why other companies aren?t doing the same Maybe Nvidia Told them not too but that?s not our problem hehe
Check out the card here its also Eye candy to look at if you?re a case modder this is the card for you :)

The Tripple X Geforce4 Ti4200 128Mb version comes with 4.0ns Ram ( 500Mhz ) also making it a faster 128mb card but so does the Leadteck Ti4200 128mb card so its nothing special ....

The 64Mb version is the king of the Ti4200's your looking for !

I've read that Asus does, but... Are there any other manufacturers that go above and beyond "reference design" on their GF4 cards?

I would go with the MSI for the extra $20,you get the best software package and you can also overclock your MSI GF4 Ti 4400 as well.

the geforce4Ti4200 or the ATI 9700 and some cheap ATI 8500 are the best guys around

I just bought a GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GeForce 4 Ti 4200, 3.5ns, 64MB DDR. 1 CRT ONLY No DVI, or TV-Out. Retail...from
www.newegg.com for $133.00 I think that's a good price. Check it out. Newegg's the BEST online dealer I've found.

I agree that the ti4200's are probably the "best bang for the buck" but for an extra $20, I get a 3yr warranty. faster ram, 8 ply card instead of a 6 ply card and speeds that I do not have to overclock. I am open to suggestion, that is why I am asking the questions. I am just wondering if ti4400 are a better "bang for the buck" since everyone is going ti4200, ti4400 or 8500. The ti4200 and 8500 with all the extras get pretty pricey.

I dont know where you come from but in Australia the Standard price for a Geforce4Ti4200 card is $335 and the price for a Geforce4ti4400 is $500 thats like $175 more then a Geforce4Ti4200 for what an extra an extra 25 Mhz on the core
Youv gotta be joking and for the 128mb Ti4200 is like 25Mhz on core and 50Mhz on ram you said it before your looking for the best value for your money card stay well away from Ti4400 they are pointless

US dollars are about half of that

Oh and please explain to me what a thicker PCB does for your video card ?

About 3 years warranty ?. In 3 years time a geforce4 card will be non existent and there for you wont be able to get it replaced even if it is still around but highly doubtful you could probably just buy one for $20 so if a card lasts more then 1 year
Its more likely going to last a few more so so don?t worry about over 1 year on computers parts its not worth it ? Your not buying a fridge or a washing machine dude lol it?s a video card
