sorry if this pops up quite a bit, but i haven't been on the forums in a loooooooooooooooooong while... anyways, here goes:
my existing mobo is a asus a7v133 (i know, time to upgrade)... the manual says it supports agp 2.0 at 4x, 2x, 1x
my question is, if i opt for an 8x geforce4, will it be garunteed to work on my current mobo? i wasnt 8x because i'm planning on getting a new mobo soon, but i'm not doing it right now, as it will take ddr ram, and i need 512mb of ram to work (my cureent ram is pc100)
so is it manufacturer-independent, or are all agp 3.0 cards backwards compatable with agp 2.0 4x ?
while we're on the subject, any suggestions on a specific card? i'm looking for a geforce4 ti4600 8x (if my mobo will take it)
or am i all and should i go radeon? thus far i've been nvidia-loyal, and i love the consistent new det drivers
budget for this is $250 and i'm 2-daying it on monday... please help!!!
