Geforce4 Problems on Epox 8KHA+ ??

I've read over at HardOCP.com that the GF4 4600's aren't able to mount the 8KHA+.

My question is will there also be problems with the GF4 4400? My friend just got his 8KHA+ in and is waiting on the his GF4 4400 and would like to know if it's going to work or not.

Lol, they'll fit, don't worry about it. 🙂
 
Actually the feedback is mixed,some say it will and some say no,this is from people that have the Visiontek GF4 TI4600.

Matt "CIWS" Waters took a VisionTek Ti4600, that he bought this morning, and put it into both EPoX boards listed above and got the same results. Here is a picture (finally) of what folks are experiencing. There are capacitors on the mainboard and the VidCard that come into contact with each other keeping the card from being inserted fully. >>

that is nuts. one of them is out of AGP spec on the components height clearance. Looks like Epox is probably at fault.
 
Oh crap, you're right! That really sucks. Although it looks like that might only affect VisionTek Ti4600 cards only?

We'll see I guess.
 
Yeah that's what I would really like to know. Can someone definetely say if the 4400's will work in the 8KHA+.
 
I don't think the PNY cards will work either. That means that both of the current G4 Ti cards don't work. You better hope some manufacturer changes the design or you'll be screwed.
 
This is a sad development!!! I too will be enraged if my new gainward won't fit!!! I had to saw down a chunk of my PAL8045 to get it to fit on my EPoX 8KHA+ but in this case sawing down a capacitor might not be an option! 🙁

And talk about Epox not following AGP 2.0 spec. Nvidia design is right on spec 🙂

From what I heard, it's a 50/50 chance, as the size of the capacitor vaires from board to board.

Also, Epox excuse "it's just Visiontek" is BS. Most of the GF4 boards are based on Nvidia reference design.

Your Radeon will fit fine,the problem is with the GF4 Ti cards since they are longer and a capacitor that is in the way on the Epox 8KHA+ which(the board) is out of AGP spec,I`ve read one guy actually using the Visiontek GF4 TI 4600 fine on his Epox 8KHA+, it seems there are a few different Epox 8KHA+ designs out.

Instead of taking resposibility for obvioiusly flawed product that is not following AGP specs, Epox recommends to remove capacitor with plyers and void your warranty.

Pathetic.
 
If you read the artice over at HardOCP, it points to the idea of a production problem on EPOX's part. So what I took from this is that they intended to produce them within the AGP specs, but something may have gone wrong in production and they are investigating it. I think it is a limted issue, but I have yet to have time to open my machine up and measure my Epox board.
