geforce4 mx440 quality problems at 1600x1200

With my old TNT card, 1600x1200 looked fine. But with this gainward geforce4 mx440 there are slight vertical lines, the color of which being at a slightly different contrast to what it is supposed to be. Doesn't appear in other resolutions and everything points to it being a low level problem. I was thinking of RMA'ing it but how am I to know I won't get another card with the same problem?

I'd RMA it for exchange, unless you hear from other people with the same problem. That's really unacceptible and I doubt many other cards produce that effect, especially from gainward.

and this is it at 1600x1200 with these faint vertical lines

screenshots wouldn't capture the corrupt display, I had to try and recreate it in photoshop. In actuality the lines are
finer, closer together, and more straight.
