GeForce4 MX and Direct-X

fearQuestion

Hi, I am on a pretty low budget and I ordered a 128mb version of the GeForce4 MX. I've read from a couple places that it does not support Direct-X? Does this mean it won't run games like Splinter Cell which lists a 32mb Direct-X video card as a requirement? On the nVidia site, the Detonator driver says "Direct-X 9 Compliant" or something like that, can someone please clear up my confusion? Thanks a lot!

The GF4 MX series has hardware that meets DirectX 7 standards. You will be able to play DX games, but I don't know how much you will enjoy playing them. Welcome to Anandtech Forums, enjoy your stay. Peace.
