Hi, I am on a pretty low budget and I ordered a 128mb version of the GeForce4 MX. I've read from a couple places that it does not support Direct-X? Does this mean it won't run games like Splinter Cell which lists a 32mb Direct-X video card as a requirement? On the nVidia site, the Detonator driver says "Direct-X 9 Compliant" or something like that, can someone please clear up my confusion? Thanks a lot!

The Geforce4 mx supports DX7. I believe splinter cell is a DX8 game, dont worry though it should work just fine.

What nick1985 means is the Mods don`t like members posting the same topic in more then one forum(cross posting),I know your a new member so probably didn`t know this, btw it`ll run fine with your GF4 MX,also welcome to the Anandtech forums.

You can still install those drivers(43.45) even on older cards(I`ve them installed on my GF 2Ti,note it says
Detonator 40 is the graphics driver for all NVIDIA Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). Detonator 40 supports 2D graphics, DirectX 9, OpenGL 1.4, nView Desktop Management software version 2.0, NVRotate. NVKeystone, Digital Vibrance Control and includes a new control panel and the CineFX emulator. Through NVIDIA?s Unified Driver Architecture, Detonator software supports all GPUs below in a single driver.
