geforce4 HSF problem

I have a ti 4600. When my computer starts the fan is working. After a while it just stops. I dont think that the ti heatsink fans are passive cooling, so i do not know why it is doing this. Every time I reboot it starts working again, for a little while, then stops.

What Model\Brand video card is it?

Some models let you control the FAN from the drivers (Gainward, Leadtek are 2 that come to mind).

On others, it indicates a defective card (Chaintech is the first to come to mind).

My vote is that it is defective. Visiontek does not really use quality cooling.

On the plus side atleast it is replaceable (as long as it is not the Blue Orb version)
