GeForce3 vs GeForceFX 5200

Just wondering how they compare... I've got a std GF3 and can get an FX 5200 for $50... should I?

Depends on what 5200 is. Be very carefull with the ones with 64bit bus!!! I think it should perform similar to your current GF3.

For only $50 it sounds like it's one of the 64bit versions and if so the Geforce3 you already have will be much faster. Even if the FX5200 is the faster 128mb version it willn't be much faster (might even be slower at higher resolutions) than your Geforce3. If you can get the FX5200 Ultra which WILL be much faster than your Geforce3.

Have been investigating and.... keep that GF3! It is quite faster than the plain 5200.
