Help! i can't decide on which one to buy! Ti's cheper and 8500 is nicer. Compatability issues with XP is a major issue here, price not as much but still important. Mainly, i just don't want it to crash or overheat. My cpu runs at 52 idle (anybody know how to get that down a bit?) I have an athlon 1.2 on an epox 8k7a. (with original fan)

Have no idea about XP and the 8500, but you could try and drop the cpu core voltage down to get it to run a little cooler. Don't know if you have that capability in bios with your motherboard or not, but the 1.2gig runs standard at 1.75v, you should be able to run it at 1.725v at least. That would be good for about a -2C drop.

I use ATI and XP wich the latest driver, and it runs every game in very high FPS and wich a great video quality, my vote is go for ATI.
