I have posted this message before (a few months ago) with no success. I have just run into the problem again, so I was wondering if this time around someone would be able to give me some insight. My computer was overloaded with useless programs and the such, so I decided to do a format and a clean install of windows XP. The format went just fine, but when I tried to install XP on the drive I ran into problems. The initial part of the setup went just fine, as it was able to go through the preliminary copy setup files and whatnot, but as soon as it restarted to go into the actual install, the screen turns blue and it starts loading up all the files, or copying the files, i am not sure which. After it is finished with this it is supposed to go into the Windows XP screen to continue installing...at this point the screen just goes blank and nothing i do, save a restart will fix the problem. I am positve that the problem has to do with my Visiontek geforce 3 ti-500 (xtacy 6864 i believe) since when i got frustrated enough and unplugged everything else that was essential i still ran into the problem. I switched the video card to an old Kyro II from my other computer and windows XP was able to install just fine. I was then able to reinstall my geforce and install the XP drivers for it and from then on the card would work fine. I just really want to find out what went wrong so I don't have to always switch the card in the future, as it is extremely annoying. The geforce3 has served me quite well over time, and though I will be upgrading to a geforce4 in the future I am still too poor for it (stupid school takes up all my money )
Any ideas or comments appreciated. Thanks
