I play games mainly with this beast and i was told vsync always off highers frame rates, but whenever i do i get screen tears like crazy, so i usually leave it on limiting my frames to 75, anything i can do to help the screen tears or up the refresh rate?

I've found that most games run best with a 60 to 75 hertz refresh rate. Quake, Quake2 and Unreal all run like a smooth movie for me at 70 hertz. Any higher refresh rates and the video card and the monitor are out of synch so you get tearing and/or jerkiness.

just out of curiousity, is there any way to disable vsync with matrox cards? because ive found no such option in the drivers. or is it an issue with the game itself?

If you use vsysnc the best thing you can do is to make sure your refresh rate is as high as possible. Also keep in mind that most monitors have higher refresh rates at lower resolutions.

Jobberd, you may have to use a secondary program like Powerstrip. I think I used that to disable Vsync with my G400 Max.
