Okay guys, see if you can help me out. I just put together my new system and I'm in a bit of a bind with the video. Video card is an Asus 8200 Deluxe and monitor is a 17" Micron 700FGx which I got in 1997. Windows loads the Plug & Play Monitor driver, and this only allows me to get up to 1024 x 768. What I mean is that the slider in display properties only goes up to 1024x768. I tried installing the .inf file from Micron but that didn't help any. If I remove the monitor driver, all video modes up to 2048 x whatever, but as soon as I try to select one it detects the monitor again and won't go higher than 1024x768. I'm kind of at a loss here, as I am unable to get an acceptable video mode for the 3D glasses (I'm not sure if this problem is related, because it's probably got more to do with refresh rate than anything else, so first things first). I had no problem doing 1152x864 or 1280x768 on my old system, with a Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 Pro running 95b. New system specs are:
Asus A7V133, bios 1005a, VIA 4-in-1 4.32 drivers
Athlon 1.4/266
Asus 8200 Deluxe Geforece3, Asus 12.10 drivers
256MB Micron PC133 RAM
Linksys LNE100TX
Diamond SupraMax modem
SB Live 5.1 Platinum (not yet installed)
Win98SE
Also, should I install the newer Detonator drivers immediately, or wait until I have everything stable first? My priority is generally stablility over speed when it comes to drivers.
Any ideas?
