I just got my extra box going: athlonxp 1700, msi kt7 turbo, 512 pc133 cl2, gf3, 40gb hd, tb santa cruz, etc. The problem is the display is all garbled (wrong colors, some image overlapping and such) but it works with a voodoo banshee agp and radeonddr agp. At the same time, the geforce3 works fine in a different computer, but never in the computer in question. i have tried 3 different powersupplies too, no luck. The motherboard it works in, btw is an abit vh6t.

help me!!
thanks,
butch

Looks like a weird problem, but I'd guess your Vid Card just isn't combatible w/ your motherboard and your SOL, although you might try raising the AGP voltage if thats an option avi in your MB's bios. G'luck wish I could help ya more but doesn't look good 🙁

The KT7 doen't have AGP voltage adj.
I just upgraded from a MSI KT7 TURBO RAID V.3 Mobo and I was using a Geforce3 TI200 on it for 2yr's no problem.
You might want check the BIOS and make sure all the Video Caching/Shadowing options are off. Then get the Newest Detonator drivers from NVIdia's website , Uninstall your current drivers.. reboot in safe mode and install the detonators and then reboot normally. See if that resolves it.

I was under the impression your display was garbled in the bios aswell as windows, if your display is not garbled in the bios / dos, it could be a driver / OS issue and you could look into other ways to resolve your problem, like cubanx suggested. 🙂

yea, thanks guys. i should have mentioned that the problem doesnt occur until the windows splash screen finishes loading. The board is version 3.0, just like cubanx's board. I will try and install the drivers in safemode, and hopefully that will solve things.

thanks again-
butch

EDIT: restarting and installing drivers in safemode worked!! Its amazing how you can forget the little things like that!! Thanks again guys . . .

Just as a note for further use about what this situation shows is that the video card drivers load just after the splash screen, meaning that it is rather easy to pick out whether or not it is a driver problem in a case like this...
