GeForce3 can't run Direct3D

I can't test Direct3D with DX8. When I click test Direct3D, the first test works fine. When I test using hardware-accelerated DirextX 8 interfaces, I run into this error 'Direct3D test results:Failure at step 5(GetDeviceCaps): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available).

The holidays just started and I just finished building this comp. It really sucks cuz I can't play anything!
Can someone out there help me out please! Thanks!
