ok, i just bought a new geforce2 gts/pro, and i'm having some problems getting it to not suck. i'm on some abit mobo (i can't put my finger exactly on it right now), with a p3 800eb, and 384ram, running win2k. i previously had a voodoo3 2000pci card, and the new one is a powergene geforce2gts/pro 64mb ddr.
on my voodoo, runnign quake3 and unreal, i could run near 55fps average on each. after installing the geforce though, i can't get above 45fps on either. i've messed around with the settings, and it doesn't help much. i have v.sync turned off, i've installed the lastest nvidia drivers. i set agp aperature size to 128mb in the bios, nad pretty much everything i can think of. i think my problem may be that i didn't fully uninstall my voodoo somewhere in th esoftware, but i got everything i can think of.
another problem i have is with 3dmark2001. whenever i try and run th ebench mark it gives me an error message: "DirectX Error Message: setFullscreen - creating device failed: E_OUTOFMEMORY". it says somethign about downgrading my screen display, which i have, and i still can't get it to work.
i just put hte voodoo back in and uninstalled it completely, then put to geforce back in. i ran 3dmark and it started doign well, then i got that error message after like hte 2nd test, and now it will run, but i will only get like a score of 350.
anybody have any good ideas? i would really like to get this to work.
