GeForce2 VS GeForce3/TI's

I have been informed that the GeForce 2 Ultra line has out preformed the GeForce TI200 and GeForce 3 in some benchmarks :Q 😕
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this?
Thx 😀

On slower puters and lower resolutions, this is certainly true, that being _some_ benchmarks. But up the resolution, get a faster processor and memory and any of the geforce3 products will shine. And this maybe a cliche, but as more advanced games come out, there is the potential for the geforce 2 to 3 gap to increase.

Thx for the info. I'm trying to talk a guy into getting a GeForce 3 but he says he has seen many reviews that show a 2Ultra out preforming the TI200.

That is only likely to happen in 16bit colour settings, the ultra will almost always lose in 32bit colour benches

The GF3 and Ti series have better bandwidth. If you don't play games at higher resolutions (above 1024x768) or use 32 bit color, the perfomance is about the same (with older games). I've got a GF2 Pro and a Ti200. With the Ti200 I can crank up the color, the res and turn on all the visual candy. 🙂

Not quite true the Ultra has greater bandwidth than the gef2 ti200 and the gef3ti200 and equal to the original gef3. Because the geforce 2 ultra has a higher Core speed and the geforce3 HSR doesnt work in 16bit applications the ultra can sometimes beat it. only occasionally tho'

So basically the reviews that are showing the GeForce 2 Ultra's beating the TI's are the ones testing low end REZ's and no eye candy.
