No, there are two different kinds of nVidia "Pro" cards on the market. There's the GeForce2 Pro, which has 5ns memory (although some have 5.5ns memory) and is clocked at 200/400 (or 200/366 if has 5.5ns memory). Then there's the MX 400 core, which some manufacturers are calling a GeForce2 MX Pro to distinguish it from the original MX and the MX 200.

Make sure that the card you are getting is a GeForce2 Pro, not a GeForce2 MX Pro. The GF2 Pro should cost a bit more (in the $150-200 range) and should have 5ns or 5.5ns memory. If you have any questions about the card you're buying, post a link or some specs here and we'll take a look.

In response to your original question, I agree with Swanny: get the GF2 Pro. You'll save yourself some money in the long run, money that you can use to upgrade to a GF3 later on.
