I've narrowed my search for a video card down to 2 cards.
Geforce2Ti and the Radeon 7500. I'm at a crossroads as to which one would work best for my system (T-Bird750, 512 ram). DVD playback quality is important to me. I watch alot of movies on my system. I've read the Radeon is better, but my current Voodoo3 3500 seems to be fine. As long as the Geforce2 TI can match the Voodoo3 quality, I would be happy.

I was also told to just save the money, buy a $50 Geforce2 GTS and wait for the Geforce4's to come out.

Anyone have opinions?

ati vs Geforce hmmm...

I cant say, I only own 1 gforce a (geforce mx400 64mb video card that came in a retail computer purchase)
and I didn't like it after using ati all in one wonder radeon lol.

I own a radeon and a ati 128 rage and dvd is great but if your happy with yours as stated:

my current Voodoo3 3500 seems to be fine

then why not wait? as not only will your choices be better, but middle of the road cards ,such as your looking at (Geforce2Ti and the Radeon 7500)will also be cheaper

and you won't be out of pocket settling for an otherwise obsolete card(ie an extra card you threw $50 bucks on ),unless you have plans to use that card in another computer?

if you don't have such plans, then it would be a waste to spend $50 to just upgrade in 2-3 months again this is my view, yours may be different

edit >just a thought what about radeon ve oem $58.00 Here

a friend has this one and you would be hard pressed to beat it just a thought?

I can tell you, the ATI dvd quality is THE BEST. No one will argue that unless they are dumb. I was amazed at how sexy it was watching a dvd with my old radeon sdr(7200). It was so crisp and life like. I was happy as a clam:).

I have a GF2MX400 and I can say it is the biggest POS out there. The Junk Force cards are by far the worst for performance and quality. I clocked my KyroII down to 140mhz and it still out performed the over clocked GF2MX400, and the quality was still cranked. I never watched a dvd with my kyroII, but the KyroII and ATI have the best quality I have seen.
